I was using it as my daily having sold the other car before lockdown, so suddenly I was without wheels. Sorting that today. Only 4 days of treatment left. Radio is painless, just inconvenient, and a lot better than the knife.
Thanks for the offer of help, but I want to use the car again this summer....đđ

Head torqued down in 5 stages in a spiral pattern, exhaust on the studs (I had to split the mid pipe unfortunately), Water-pump on and torqued to spec, painted both water pipes in VHT to tidy them up a bit.
Whats the best way to clean the expansion tank? It's seen better days!

Whats the best way to clean the expansion tank? It's seen better days! I've read that denture cleaning tablets work (in solution / bucket) miton sterilising stuff? bleach? dynamite? I've removed the tank from my '91 if you want it to play with? Rich.

Rich. dadbif recommends denture tablets - I'm saying nothing about how one might have some already in the bathroom when one gets to a certain age... lol I used a big pointy stick from the garden in the end, one of those stake things for keeping plants upright - it was long enough to scrape the gunk off the bottom, the walls and the corners, and then I used a couple of sheets of strong kitchen roll wrapped round a couple of fingers, so that I could 'sweep' round the top of the tank.

Thanks for your thoughts, BTW, I found The tablets when clearing a relatives house, I still have my gnashers. The best thing is âSulfumanteâ available in Spanish supermarkets, used to adjust the ph in swimming pools, but descaled kettles etc like magic, just donât breathe in the fumes when itâs working.

Expansion tank cleaning! I didn't have any gnasher cleaner so I ended up using dry rice, worked out pretty well actually.
Also now sourced a wideband to go along with my Speeduino, just need to order vacuum hose and a MAF delete pipe and I can attempt to install it.

Up early to avoid the warmth, I drained my supercharger oil before refitting, what a stink! Trawling through my olfactory memory banks I reckon it smells like dirty Sunnen honing oil. Still dripping....

SORNâd mine, I think I dropped a valve yesterday, rattling and running on three, canât get at it until I finish my radiotherapy. Bugger.. 4 weeks later and it lives again, longest head gasket change I have ever done... extreme heat and health played a part. Will be back on the road on 1st sept, bet it pisses down.

Put my RS Ltd up for MoT and it failed due to excessive deterioration of rubber bush on rear drop link.
Ordered two drop links and four new bolts to fix the issue from Autolink. Great service from them as usual and posted out same day like they said. I even paid for the Royal Mail Guaranteed 24 Delivery as I only had a couple of days to fix and retest before heading away for a week. Tracked parcel and all was looking good, received at Carlisle, on route to Inverness, thinking to myself yup this will work. Checked again this morning and âreceived at Aberdeen MCâ NOOOO....
Royal Mail are twats. Upshot is wonât be delivered until tomorrow, MoT test Center closes at 12:30, 10 day free retest, away south for a weeks work... So all in all ÂŁ15 Guaranteed 24 hour delivery takes at least 48 hours and costs me ÂŁ40 for new test. Shouldâve just went for the First Class option and it would have probably been here today!

I got stuck in a traffic jam on the way home, The ITB Eunos did not like it much. Still easier to drive in traffic than my old MGB Roadster was.
