Surely they can’t be as bad as Yodel? Car running fine, been whizzing about for 10 days now, and it’s sunny again soon (allegedly)

I got stuck in a traffic jam on the way home, The ITB Eunos did not like it much. Still easier to drive in traffic than my old MGB Roadster was. Mine (non-ITB!) was rock-solid temperature- and behaviour-wise during 7 hours in London but I do find the tappets are noisy as hell after crawling for ages... lol. At least you get the ITB noise to keep you amused

Surely they can’t be as bad as Yodel? if I post anything then its Royalfail or Parcelfarce, if anything for the tracking etc. my experience is long drlivery times wiyh others (admittedly usually cheaper than RM though) anyway, looking at smaller / lighter heaters, if I drysump my 5 it's gonna loose its standard heater blower setup for the oiltank position...... Rich.

Hairdryer, lightweight, instant heat for demisting screen, only problem is you need an inverter to power it (plus it goes well with the hairdresser myth)

A friend of mine (gibsonsg) on here runs a 1600 on ITBs & did suffer with heat soak until TSIs + V6’s old bonnet were fitted. Lifting the headlights helps.

Rich. (I have a few diferent ideas on wheel design if you're interested )

Another ‘what I didn’t do’ update. I did not get an MoT!
Royal Snail finally delivered my Guaranteed Next Day a day late but hey it arrived at last. Fitted the two new drop links, hot footed it back to test center to be confronted by a “what did you do about the emissions” statement. Explained that as car is an import Eunos and not an MX5 it should tested as Non Cat as per chart 2 of the handbook. Blank looks all round. Explained that I had gone over this previously on initial test with the boss who agreed and said not to worry about it. Tester said he could only input what the DVLA gave him information on. Ran back and got the log book to show the car was registered as a Eunos etc. He had not got a clue, asked me to come back on Tuesday once he had spoken to the boss. Grrr..
Anyway that will teach me to go to a test Center owned by Halfords.. only one available at short notice.

So, ebay & hermes strike again the oiltank I bought is now missing in transit.... - the seller messaged on the 14th day after auction end to say he hadn't noticed it sold then a few days before marked sold... then tracking showd dropped off @ hermes / parcelshop yesterday... now..... so the driver has stolen it will give it a few days to see if its found W-anchors... Solved my erratic idle, been evident since head gasket change a few weeks ago. Found TPS unplugged, idiot! I feel your pain. Put the interior back together after cavity waxing etc. I could not find the passenger seat belt fabric stalk. I searched high and low, gave up, tried to buy another but evidently as rare as hen's teeth.
Searched again this time taking half the garage out - still no sign.
Sitting one evening I had a sudden thought.
Low and behold there it was on the ledge in front of the fuel tank albeit covered by the carpet and tin-ware. As I said "you're never too old to be a muppet".

Weeks ago I lost a small yellow handled screwdriver, I have had it for 40+ years, searched and searched again. Last week I opened my electrical tool box and there it was, I had looked in there several times. Boundless joy, my wife came into the garage in time to see me kissing the handle.,,

I got halfway through an oil and filter change last night. As in, I drained the oil but couldn't get the f***ing filter off! Have ordered a suitable tool so should be able to finish the job tonight.
Also had a small front LED lightbar added in the 'mouth' (as front teeth?), for extra lumens when out in the lanes over winter. It works OK but is a bit feeble, so I might swap it for a bigger one. Had a rear LED reversing and fog light bar fitted too, but it didn't work, so I took it off to send it back. Then I tested it with a decent 12V supply and both sets of LEDs worked fine, so now I have the auto-electrics guy coming back tomorrow to try to work out why it doesn't work when on the car!

The oil filter is a complete effing PAIN IN THE rear canoe to remove. The best tool that I’ve found (apart from getting extremely ‘agricultural’), is one of those cup things like a giant socket.

Yeah, the video I looked at on YouTube said it should only be hand tight, but it definitely wasn't! The filter itself says 16Nm torque, which seems like more than hand tight. I'm getting one of these: Let's hope it works!
