Just to update, tried most of the insurance suggestions, best deal I got was Lancaster.
No one else came close this time.

Just to update, tried most of the insurance suggestions, best deal I got was Lancaster. No one else came close this time. How much? 250, all mods, 3 other named drivers and 10k mileage for the year and commuting to workplace. Every other quote was 300-400.

Six photos, and your own estimate, then they submit it to the underwriters. Wish I had asked for a higher valuation!

I did 250 miles running around at the weekend in celebration of a shiny new ticket with no advisories Sadly mostly relatively boring (but quick) dual carriageways / motorways, but 20+ degrees + clear blue skies = somewhat pink me... lol Even the expensive convertibles that never have their roof down had them down! Fairweather wimps I also had a chat with my mechanic bloke - he recommended Gaz Gold as a decent option in lieu of ££££ Ohlins, which I think are a common recommendation on the 5 forums? He said that they can build them to your desired spec for about £700 a set rather than $$$$ for Ohlins, and that he saw a 6-seconds-a-lap improvement in lap times after putting them on as a replacement for (I presume) a standard setup (not on a 5)!

Sanded the primer on the front lip (IL Motorsport version second hand), painted it semigloss black. Looks good enough for something thats going to be down by the road, as in not eye hight.

I have just put the inlet cam back to the timing mark where it made 169 BHP. The washers that came with the timing gears were distorted so I have replaced the washers on both gears with Nordlock washers so they should not budge again. I just need to tweek the autotune parameters a little bit more to sort out the stumble at low revs.

I have just ordered another oil pressure sender as I have no oil pressure at the gauge, plenty of oil being thrown round the camshafts still, I have converted to an early gauge to show live oil pressure so fingers crossed thats all it is. ( The fitted sender was second hand )
