Mine used to stumble at low revs, just as I pulled away from a standstill. Cured it by increasing the ignition timing by 2 or 3 degrees in the first couple of columns after idle.

It appears that I have intermitent oil pressure readings, The engine is not making an horrid noises so the oil is doing its job. I have checked the connector to the sender which seems fine.

The printed circuit on the instrument panel is on a plastic film, this can become brittle and crack. Do you get full deflection if you ground the sender wire? ISTR you have changed your gauge, Is there a possibility of a poor connection on the gauge?

Is there a kit you can buy for this? My gear change isn't perfect in first and second as in it can be can be hard to get in when cold, i'd bet this has almost certainly never been done on my car and its now on 198k km - wouldn't mind doing the turret oil if nothing else but no idea where to start lol!

Easy quick job. There's a few vids on youtube, this one seems to be the best: As for parts, Autolink do all the bits, give them a call. You'll definitely need a new inner boot, and maybe upper too if it's never been done.

Should have the house to myself in a few weeks so can actually crack on and get some tasks done, hopefully...

I've just ordered the genuine Mazda shift boot package from MX5 Parts as that can be my starting point, especially as they have 10% off for the bank holiday weekend, and we'll see the state of the rest when i have a look in there!

MX5parts have a video on it too, First half is changing the gearstick gaiters etc, second half is changing the gearbox oil.
I did mine in the autumn, it's dead easy.

Dropped it off for an MOT this morning, this could go either way.... I would comment on the door bars but I was too overwhelmed with watching the gauges and trying to break in the BOFI clutch.

live.staticflickr.com/31337/51148863791_2a106ae7ca_c.jpgOil change + Filter and pressure sender change. Its really easy to change the filter with ITBs just remove the air filter and reach down to unscrew the oil filter. The sender was a pig though, I have the Mk2.5 block so the knock sensor was a pain to get round. ( I did disconect the battery before waving spanners near the starter motor terminals ) I switched off the fuel and ignition in the ecu to crank until the oil pressure came up then switche both back on and ran the engine until it was warm then stopped it checked the oil level then restarted the engine before doing the following vid.
