Just received my genuine Mazda 'Eunos' badged blank key from Japan, as my one has a little crack in it so trying to avoid the inevitable!! Does anyone know where I can get it cut? Is this something a normal key cutting place could do, due to the basic nature of it? www.ebay.co.uk/itm/173774021591?hash=item2875bd23d7:g:YikAAOSw-iZcVV4k^^ this type? any keycutter / cobblers should be able to copy BUT they usually want to sell a key / proffit my local cobblers had no issue cutting keys I've supplied Rich.

I like the idea of these - get to see some of the world while (apparently) not doing mental speeds! I used to do 12 car & proper roadrallies on both sides of the car, pnb was a bitch (especially if on 3 maps ) but then it went to markedmaps in an effort to equilise the entries & also stop badly-plotted crews dissapearing accross the countryside / through blackspots not entered one for ~15 years now (10 for stages) can be good fun but also serious headwork & stress It can still be pretty fast at times too!* When you spend a few minutes of your allocated time plotting where to go, you have to go faster than the nominal 30mph average to catch up, so most of the time we're more or less going as fast as we can. My local organisation gives novices 30 minutes pre-plotting time so that makes things a bit less frantic and helps the navigator with the travel sickness...
*Not quite what it used to be in the olden days of 'proper road rallies' - I used to navigate for someone who did them in his youth and it sounds like they were pretty crazy.

Fairly active rally scene here in Kent, though it is mostly over the darker months.

That's the style! Old skoool! Yeah I was hoping a normal key cutters would make simple work of it, i mean it's like a door key, it's just the guy at the local Timpson's wouldn't do it!? Anyway, this morning went to the other local Timpson's about 10 miles away and he did it with ease, calling the other bloke 'useless' As a side note, i'm gutted I never saw that one from Autolink as it matches my key perfectly - I got an all metal one with Eunos badge (no plastic bit), from Japan (genuine part)

Yeah that would make sense as the all metal one is obviously thinner without the plastic.......... i mean i'm happy as it's still a proper key, it's just the Autolink one is the proper, cheaper and would have arrived much quicker lol!

Thanks for the link to the Autolink keys!
Out of stock at the moment, boooo.
I did have a spare key already but, helpfully, it's 'disappeared'.

I noticed that too the other day.......... but re-searched on the bay yesterday and there they were again! So bought one and is now dispatched Now that I have the new, skinny, metal valet key as daily, its not that comfortable, so i'm very pleased to get a new plastic handle one from Autolink My car was missing the valet key so it's no drama, i'll juts hide that one away as the spare when this turns up!

Went for a « round the block » drive to check everything was as they should be. This is after the mx5 was on a lift for just about a year, thanks covid!, engine swapped with an unknown one (all belts, water pump , oil, plugs etc changed), new clutch, new diff bushings and realigning the ppf. Seems to be ok. Now it’s got to go thru the MOT ... expired a year ago ...
