I looked at it. Again. Then walked off. Again

Heard a clonking noise from the suspension
Raised the car up, couldnt see anything untoward
Set the damping to 12 from full hard on the front...not clonking much on the first drive

Changed my timing belt and put the HKS cams in. Battery ran out on the laptop before I could do the timing, but super chuffed with what I got done in a post-work spanner session.

Got a scare. Went back to the garage this morning to set the timing. Massive clunking noise from engine. prarrie canoe myself.
Turns out I hadn't tightened the bolts up on the water pump pulley.

changed the slave cylinder on Bambi plus clutch and brake fluid
clutch still not disengaging fully too so going to refurb the master cylinder
then if THAT doesnt solve it, car's basically going nowhere as Megan can't afford a new clutch

Did you bleed it thoroughly? I thought mine was minced, but bled it two or three times and it came back. Seems you have to put a fair amount of fluid through it.

Bled it about 4 times in the end
It was way better by the last time...but still think there is more wrong than just bleeding

Fair enough, thought it was just worth asking before you do more work! Good luck.

Changed rocker gasket (technically yesterday, meh), fitted my 6 point harness properly, went for a drive, realised oil was still leaking. Looks like it's the cam seals then. Wonderful.

Opened my post to find my shiny new knob, now just to figure out how to get the old one off. And drove with the roof down in the rain in the dark, not much better feelings than that. I want to bottle that feeling so I remember how much fun the car is if it ever gives me trouble.

I want to bottle that feeling so I remember how much fun the car is if it ever gives me trouble. It just twists off. Just remember you're replacing it anyway so don't worry about breaking it
