I have the Ford washer jets ready to fit - do I need to order a new Y-piece thingy (technical term) too?? You don't need a new Y joint/ T piece but the old ones often crack under the fiddling/reconnecting. What with being 20 year old plastic and all. I noticed because there was weak spray pattern and fluid spraying about where it shouldn't be, under the bonnet.
Ahhh, that would make sense. I will have to take extra care!
I might do mine at the Skuzzle RR day, so others can help me or laugh at me when I get it wrong lol

""I'm partly loathe to change the sender to an aftermarket one because I always think that once you start fiddling with something, it's never as reliable but I do want to get the sender changed for a new OEM one at least, in the hope it's not quite working properly and my engine does actually have oil pressure! (*crosses fingers* lol)""I kept the connection to my OEM as well (just split the connection at the sender) so I can check they both work in tandem, the idea was that after a while I would get used to where the needle sits as compared to the aftermarket gauge and i could just remove the aftermarket one! got used to it now though

Yesterday a nice easy bit of work.
Cleaned the rubber window guides and put some Shin Etsu grease in there. Now the electric windows will actually work at a moderate pace. Also squirted some silicone grease down inside the door cards. Lazy I know, but I'll be changing door cards soon so may as well wait until then to refurb the mechanism.

I may have to have a gander if you're going to the Skuzzle day!

Replaced the drivers side door lock barrel after some scoundrel tried to open it with a screwdriver, and FINALLY removed all my hard top bracket bolts (purchased a mini blow torch to melt the red Loctite)- luckily just the one sheared bolt that required drilling out. Ready to fix the hardtop down now with the Jass brackets, but as it's taken so long I probably wont bother now till next Autumn

Removed roll bar, fabricated harness bar & welded it in place. Made some cardboard templates to fabricate firewalls so I can get the car through scrutineering. Changed gearbox oil whilst the little critter was up in the air.

Finally got round to doing a compression test. Readings were 200,192,195 & 195 so I'll live with a bit of oil smoke on start-up - must be valve stem oil seals. Amazing that after 4 years of pretty heavy use by us (and goodness knows what by previous owner) the compressions are still up there. Roll on fitting the i/c and larger injectors...... Cheers, Pewe.

Chaqun a son goo Rodders. Cheers, Pewe

welded up a hole in the exhaust, and added a hanger (to replace the one that got ripped off, making the whole..)
started it up for the first time since my last track day (8 weeks ago), absolutely faultless.
It is a brilliant car. they are brilliant cars.
