Just bought some BC coilovers for the MK3. They were too cheap not to. Wasnt this the one you definitely weren't modifying??

I fitted better washer jets to my Mk1.
The washers are now worse because I didn't realise that the 21 year old Y piece in the pipes would have the consistency of cling film.
Bugger.

yes. This doesn't count as modifying so its allowed under permitted development

It doesn't have a turbo and still has both cats. That's pretty standard in my book. Lol.

Exactly the same thing happened on mine How long did you spend being disappointed with the weak spray pattern before you realised? I have the Ford washer jets ready to fit - do I need to order a new Y-piece thingy (technical term) too??

More details needed!! I am thinking I might need a proper oil pressure guage on mine most important part is changing the sender unit - its under the inlet manifold between the starter and the oil filter and not easy to get to with the inlet manifold in place, i did mine when i had the engine out. You can then actually still connect the OEM gauge and the needle will move in response to the variable voltage of the new sender, however - how that needle relates to pressure is anyone's guess you can remove the cluster and carefully reposition the needle to give you a good sweep from max to min I did but i still like the numbers on the aftermarket jobbie! So i then ran a wire through the bulkhead from the sender then you just need an ign+ and earth plus a feed from the lights if you want it to light up at night (i didnt bother!), all the wiring can be picked up from the fuse box using these sort of things:- www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pack-Of-2-Add-A-Circuit-Standard-Blade-Fuse-Holders-20-Amp-Rating-Easy-Fuse-Spur-/111112952391?hash=item19ded91a47Then i just popped out the innards of my vent (leaving the outer sleeve) and a 52mm gauge sits in perfectly!! This was the sender and gauge i got - I wouldnt recommend it, broke my never buy from outside the UK rule!!! - from Hong Kong and it shows! works alright though! the connections are tiny nuts that were made for the tiny chinese kids hands who built it!! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-2-52mm-Car-Auto-Pointer-Oil-Pressure-Press-Gauge-0-100PSI-White-LED-/252585834015?hash=item3acf49f61fPlenty similar but better quality out there This probably should be in a techie section than here, soz Horney

You don't need a new Y joint/ T piece but the old ones often crack under the fiddling/reconnecting. What with being 20 year old plastic and all. I noticed because there was weak spray pattern and fluid spraying about where it shouldn't be, under the bonnet.

Thanks for the details, that's really useful
I'm partly loathe to change the sender to an aftermarket one because I always think that once you start fiddling with something, it's never as reliable but I do want to get the sender changed for a new OEM one at least, in the hope it's not quite working properly and my engine does actually have oil pressure! (*crosses fingers* lol)
