Sailed it back from work! At least the underside should now be clean. I did exactly this on Sunday night... 155 miles of it. Poor little car! It's utterly filthy now and it's my daily haha. I managed 346 miles on a tank, Mk1 1.8 import. Brimmed to brimmed used 43.1 litres of fuel, averaging out to 36.6 MPG. Considering 50+ miles were at 70MPH, the rest mostly 60-65, and I used it for my commute this week Mon-Thurs (6 mile journey each way taking 30+ minutes) I am VERY impressed with that sort of MPG. 48 litre tanks too I believe so I had 4 litres left! Lol. If I was bored enough on a run again, I think 360+ miles is more than achievable haha.

Yesterday.. took it to Llandow circuit and drove round in circles until I had no unleaded left! Was a good day to blow off the winter cobwebs and make sure the turbo install would put up with some abuse. Managed to randomly snap a belt tensioner bolt and lose power steering belt (found it again later in the day) but no real issues or problems all day.

Took it to get some estimates on sorting out the rust. Erk. I feel your pain, mine has been away for a couple of weeks now getting a couple of minor bits sorted + an MOT.

Took it to get some estimates on sorting out the rust. Erk. So what did they quote? Reason I ask is that my Mk1's in with Colin Sparkes in Bisley to have the driver's side rear sill sorted out. Price was given as £300 - £350 depending on what he finds. Sounded reasonable to me and I know he's done a few before having come recommended by MOC. Cheers, Pewe.

erm, 3500 to "anti-corrosion" the bottom.
This is in Ukraine tho. hahaha. So that's like.. £110. Didn't want to do any welding tho, that'll be extra, with some other bunch.

I warmed up the blue and white injector fuse out, cranked it with the ignition until the oil pressure built up, then put the fuse back in and let it idle for 10 minutes. Didn't fancy driving them tho, not in the snow or prarrie canoee weather.

Just stripped down and cleaned the air filter housing, MAF sensor, intake, throttle body etc on my Mk3. Soooo much crud from the PCV downstream. Was hoping to have the new panel filter, but it hasn't arrived in time. Still hunts a bit on idle, although I'm sure cleaning the MAF helped a bit.

Got told "I'm taking your mx5 today" by the other half. I think she's grown to it. She even took the roof down and went on a girly drive with her friend!

Drove it to work with the roof down. Received funny looks on arrival. Gotta love heated seats

Just bought some BC coilovers for the MK3. They were too cheap not to.
