Went for my first spin after my newly completed intercooler installation and addition of a 150mm crank overlay. Came back buzzing!

Took the missus one for an MOT. It failed on a few things, lucky I'm a pikey and never throw anything away so I had a spare coil spring, which had snapped. Can't believe I didn't spot it when I gave the car a once over at the weekend. D'oh. Easy job though and having a mate with airtools and access to a private car club at weekends does make working on these old cars a dream.

So in my lunch break I tightened a loose front headlight that was rattling around whilst driving, changed all the main front bulbs and changed the side lights. Not bad for someone with no mechanical skills!... yet.

Fitted some Xenon dipped beam bulbs for my Mk3 NC. Unfortunately when I ordered the main beam I didn't realise they were for a 3.5 and it's different fitting. Anyone recommend a Xenon bulb for the mk3? MX5Parts don't seem to do one?

Drove it for the first time in a while, tried to find the source of the knocking noise, to no avail.

where's the noise generally from or when does it occur? I found mine knocking a little while ago; turned out it was the exhaust banging against the diff

Posted about it here: mighty5s.com/thread/1734/knocking-noise-braking?page=1&scrollTo=20620Happens coming on/off brakes, sounds like it's coming from the front of the car.

Ah, my guess would've been brake pads moving about or droplinks...

Clean the brakes out all round. Probably as rich says just pads moving about
