Hi all,
Been looking for a clean MK1 for far too long.
Had a couple of near misses recently which have been really annoying! So figured I'd sign up and get notifications on here too!
Ideally after a 1.8 / 1.6 eunos, LSD, Decent coilovers / rollbar / wheels would be a bonus. No rust would be good.
Cheers guys.
Based in South East but happy to travel.

Might be an idea to suggest the kind of budget you have and welcome to Mighty5s. :-)

Thanks. Unlimited budget haha. Would only want to spend around £3k maximum on one though Ideally £2500 would be perfect, seen a couple of bargains go within 30 minutes recently and beginning to get depressed. Been looking since February.... Cheers guys.

Yup.
Ideally though it would be nice to buy one that's already taken the hit with decent coilovers, rollbar etc. More the better. Otherwise I'm looking at £1500-£2000 more just making it sit right! That's the plan anyway.
Missed out on the cleanest S special I've ever seen last weekend. Meisters, imported 2007, £1400 rust reciept, enthusiast owned last 5 years, cusco roll bar, nice gold wheels, mx5parts exhaust, full MOT sills looked immaculate, he wanted a quick sale for £2250. Unreal. I even offered him £2500+ but he agreed for someone to view it just before I made contact. I'm still crying in my head... lol.

Bailly3 was selling a cracker for 3.5k. Very clean. Nice bits.
Just be patient. More will be up for sale as summer comes to an end..

You could try contacting Steve at Goodwood Sports Cars. I got mine from him for not much more than your budget, and it literally is spotless. Zero rust, great paintwork, good interior. I've seen 5 year old cars that look a lot worse.

Granted they are all 'good' ones, but a Mk1 isn't worth that to me. The well modified one on there is pushing £6000, one just sold on nutz for £2250 which is equally as good. I'll be looking for a private sale ideally!

As with most dealers the list price you see on the website is not what you're likely to pay after a bit of negotiation.
But fair enough if it's not what you're after. Basically with them you're paying extra for the ease of sale and peace of mind of a rust-free shell. Running around the country looking at cars which may or may not be as "mint" as the seller claims adds up quickly.
