Oh my. I just cooked up an epic steak. Sirlion medium rare, a load of home made chips washed down with a Samuel Adams (believe it or not, brewed in Kent. Me and a mate did indeed organise a piss up in a brewery.)

Damn, I love a good steak.
What's your take on sauces & seasoning (other than S&P) on steaks? Enhance or ruin?

Enhance. ASDA do some great steaks with all the seasoning on them already, they have BBQ ones, hot and spicy ones and salt and pepper ones - two for £7 they are lush I often buy some if I have friends coming round for a few beers.
A great way to do steaks is to marinade them with some curry paste, then fry them up. Wouldn't do it with a big fat expensive one but it is absolutely pukka with some small fry steaks, serve with some home made fries and a little side salad. Absolutely lovely.
Can't beat a nice few Chillis cut up, ground with some S&P... then dip your steaks in some olive oil and rub it all in.. Mmmm.

I do something similar - a portuguese-style marinade - bay leaf, peri peri powder, olive oil, salt and some garlic, leave it overnight. Also another method - chuck some salt (two table spools per steak or so) on a tough cheap steak and it helps soften it up nicely in a few hours. Anyone here ever cook flank steak ? do the salt thing then fry it up and then slice thin it against the grain. Did I mention I like steak ?

My car is feeling awesome Was being a bit slow and stuttery and now is awesomes again after a bunch of things. New HT leads + sparks Oil change and engine flush. Half a can of injector cleaner. and finally tightened the throttle cable. Not sure what one fixed it but it's so much better now! Still got to change my prop shaft but meh! oh and it's clean again.

I have swapped my thick woolly winter hat for my less thick woolly spring/autumn hat. For a week in July I will swap to my summer cap.
