I have for sale a few items I've made out of MX5 parts. I have 2 of these lamps available. They have been made out of MX5 pistons and rods. One of them I have cleaned up quite a lot and had a bit of a polish over it. The other I've cleaned the carbon off but left the staining for a "used" look. I have used braided flex which gives around 1.5m of cable from the base to the plug. This should be enough for the vast majority! The wiring is only rated to 6 amps so I have replaced the 13 amp fuse with a 3 amp fuse. The lamp is switched on the lamp holder itself and has a safety switch which won't allow the switch to be turned on unless there is a bulb in there. The lamp holder takes a bayonet bulb. Price is per lamp, £95 posted. I also have a candlestick holder. Takes a 35mm candle. I used votive candles in mine.

If I didn't have a load of racing to pay for this month I'd be certainly having a lamp.

I'll have plenty of other things. I am making cam shaft lamps, a crank shaft lamp and and eccentric shaft lamp. I am making a few clocks too, one from a diff and a couple from a rotary engine.

All of the above is sold but I now have 2 of these on offer. One is slightly shorter than the picture as that's how Mazda made them! These are £60.

That's lovely, really nice work. The only way it could get any better is if you had the cam gun drilled, and run the wire down the middle, but I wouldn't know where to get that done... thought of doing a mohair lamp shade?

I agree that having the wire completely hidden would be nice, but the cost of having it done (and like you I wouldn't know where to have it done) would most likely make them prohibitively expensive. I have a few more items on the way:
