it was becoming apparent that the Audi a3 3 door wasn't big enough as a family motor/winter runaround (and also I like changing cars) so just got this, lovely to drive, from a jag specialist who really knows his stuff and also builds and races jags. 2.5 petrol awd loads of history, nice drive! Also he is in the process of building a turbo Mx5, they develop their own ECUs and are designing one specifically for the 5. He wants me to try it out when it's done, I told him about the forum and he'd like our thoughts and support - could be interesting, I will keep us all informed. jag should be with me Wednesday, excited now!!!!

And when you're done with it you can put the V6 in the Mazda.

Yes, I was talking about this with the Jag guy. When he looked into it he reckoned FI and their new ecu on the std lump is more gain for less cost. Horney - When he gets this 5 up and running I'm sure he'd appreciate your input - we could meet up at his place in the New Year?

But it's a Mondeo. In before anyone else. Yup the chassis is! i started by looking at Mondeos but they were all a bit dull, the Jag is actually about the same cash for a lot more car! i was reading up a bit about this and it's not enough of a mondeo that you can buy cheap ford parts and chuck em on!

It is when it comes to where it matters, the engine I spent 14 quid on a new CAS unit from ford, fitted it myself. That's all. The DMF went at the usual 100K Miles - it's a consumable as far as diesels go. The interior is pure jaguar tho.

Thoroughly enjoyed the drive home, its going to be great fun going from a large awd auto saloon to the 5 So different. The jag feels exactly the same whether your doing 30 or 70!

I feel you on that one. My father has a PROPER (sorry I'll shut up now!) Jag, I've driven it a few times. You do not know you're doing silly speeds at all. Same with a wafty Honda and Volvo I had, can't beat a big auto barge.
...but now the only auto I regularly drive is the other half's MX5.. it's fun, honest!
