**** Please note - if this thread goes out of hand it will be locked and relevant posts deleted. ****
It has been noted that the quality of Doctor MX5s work (or lack thereof) is questionable. Those of you who are on the numerous MX5 facebook pages will probably have seen this.
I would suggest caution if anyone is to use this particular trader. Also anyone who has had work done by them, particularly welding repairs & underseal I would recommend that you check anything that they have carried out on your car.
Again. Please do not allow this thread to get out of hand. This is not the place for slagging off but I feel is is important to let people know. I have posted this with the permission of King Horney. Be good.

Is this the chap that also sells parts on ebay? Yes. He sells on eBay under the same business name. The business page of the company on Facebook has gone awol since these posts questioning their work have started appearing. I would be keeping a wide berth for the time being, and would certainly not be purchasing parts from them on eBay at the moment.

To be fair, I can't see there being any problem with purchasing parts off him on ebay? Firstly, nothing has been said about there being any problems with buying parts off him. Secondly, if you buy things via ebay, you are protected by them, and by Paypal.
If you want to avoid him because of a personal principle, that's fine, but I don't personally have any issues with the guy. For the record I've bought things off him several times and have always received exactly what I bought, quickly.
Russell.

I have also had good service previously through ebay - must have been a good 6-months ago, though, seeing as I usually end up buying stuff then take ages to get round to fit them lol

I guess the fact he posts decent products in a timely fashion on Ebay, doesn't necessarily mean he can weld or underseal cars properly.

For me, this is good/bad timing!
I live about 20 mins from him and have used him a few times with excellent results every time. BUT never for work, just to purchase parts.
I've just purchased a really clean NA. Really clean other than a small scab on the sill.
I was going to go over there to... wait for it... have it repaired and then get the car undersealed!!!
Can anyone point me to someone else localish to perform the same jobs??! I won't be going there now!

mx5restorer isn't *that* far away - nice drive along the coast to eastbourne :-). I agree had no issue with parts from the guy.

Always very busy there, but he comes up high on search engine results so that might be why...
I got him to do my MOT last year as I was worried about the decat, passed and no problems with him at all (except getting it booked in!)
No welding or underseal done though...

I don't know the guy, but from a lifetimes experience I always find you only get the truth of what a person is like when things go wrong.
I've dealt with people for years with no problems, but the first sign of a problem said person has turned into an absolute moron.

Nick Bailey at Skuzzle MotorSport will be able to help you out, he does do small sill repairs and underseal. Otherwise, Gareth at mx5restorer as mentioned.

I'm interested in this. I have no doubt Nick is a top mechanic, but would appreciate any first hand reviews of welding/rust work he has done?
I had always intended to go to mx5 restorer, but Skuzzle is the perfection location for me being 3 miles from my fathers house.
