Pull up a chair people, and brace yourself for my first ever attempt at a 'build' thread that lasts more than 3 posts.
So last september, after getting uninterested in fixing my old peugeot 205, I decided to finally jump on the mx5 wagon. One came up for sale for pretty cheap for what it was and was very local so figured i'd have a look. The previous owner had passed away earlier last year and his wife needed to shift it, and it had been looked after mechanically, however it did need a new water pump as the seller already pointed out. It was resprayed around 6 years ago, and while the panels are all the same shade of red, it was not a very expensive respray and trying to machine polish it has been an experience as it is SUPER soft paint.
so after test driving it and doing some thinking, I put in a bid and ended up being the sole bidder which was handy! First thing first I replaced the water pump, at the same time taking the opportunity to replace all the belts, pulleys etc while I was there for peace of mind. I also had to have the vinyl roof replaced as it turned out the thing leaked pretty badly (number one reason not to look at a convertible while the weather is good!) so now it has a lovely mohair roof courtesy of Jack Smith's retrimmers in Swansea.
The mod list is very short thus far i'm afraid, being a student in my final year I don't have tons of spare cash for things i'd love to get!
-Cobalt cat back, lovely thing, not silly loud but you know its there, very tempted to get a silenced decat...
-Bridgestone RE002 to replace the shocking ditchfinders previously fitted
-Nardi deep corn leather wheel which came up on ebay, as well as a general tidy of the interior
told you it was a short list, so have some pics instead!

Also you may have noticed in the title, due to the reg plate on the car (came with it) a friend of mine decided it said anus, so sdaly that has stuck as the car's official nickname haha
I will do my best to update this thread as much as possible, lots of things planned for this!
