Have been ridiculed many times for the daft mini wheels on my '5, but I maintain that the bum dyno says it is faster* with the teensy wheels.
Engineering explained has got my back -
*better acceleration when you have traction, I concede there is less grip and its probably slower (although likely fun-er) out of corners.

Yeah I'll be fitting a 5 speed TorSen to my 6 speed mk3 track car eventually.

6spd with the 4.1 from the 5 speed diff is probably the route I should have taken as that will have a great effect on the gearing, but I prefer the 5spd box so went the other way, mine feels pretty good though having gone from 4.1-4.44, probably should of fitted 4.6 but was concerned about going too short so took the compromise but driving with the 4.44 I realize I could of took it more aggressive.

I'm going to fit a lightened flywheel as well. 1st and 2nd should be pretty ballistic with that combo.

Not had mine long but I always find myself pretty impressed with how it goes in the 1st-3rd.
4.3 diff + factory lightened flywheel.
Basically I am the limitation, a problem I am hoping more miles will solve...

^ np minty weirdest thing is that those ratios show that the 6 speed actually has shorter legs than the 5 speed, in the top gear. |

Last year I ran a 4.7LSD on the NA with itbs, really helped out the acceleration but was a little noisey on the Mways....

I'm pretty sure mine is 4.6 in addition to the stupid wheels.
It is predictably excellent at autotests and similarly predictably horrendous on the motorway.
