Hey All
Think I'm going to get a second set of wheels for track days in wet and winter and need some tyre recommendations. Seems the Rainsports get good reviews but not sure if anything else is as good or better up to £50 per tyre? Would pretty much only get used for driving to and then on track.
Thx

Rainsports are wet-weather but definitely not winter tyres and they are definitely good for driving during summer too. Great road tyre.

if you want a good wet-weather-and-winter tyre, there are some great all-weather tyres on the market now, but they really are designed to work in the winter and be more-than-acceptable in summer. I have a set of said tyres and they were great in the snow this last winter (took them skiing and all over snow-drift covered roads) - www.goodyear.eu/en_gb/consumer/tires/vector_4seasons_gen-2.VEC4SEASG2.html.

Plenty of people I know use rainsports as wet race tyres for sprinting and hill climbing. Not great on a dry track though. They handle ok etc but wear super fast.

Heres a different suggestion. not a winter or rain tyre at all.. but i used my nankang ns2 ultra sports all year round. from hot summer combe track days to flooded combe track sessions to a snow and greasy track day at bedford they never let me down. great underrated tyre. 1a listed too so you can still sprint and autosolo on them. and at 35 a corner they are defo worth a punt. lasted a whole year too tred wise.
