Ever since i've had the 5 its made an intermittent, very strange screeching noise that i believe are made when the fans kick in, it will make the noise on command when i press the a/c button so guessing it is the fans. Anyone have any suggestions before i just look for new fans? Are they at all serviceable? seem to be working okay, but obviously due to this strange warm weather it does it a lot more and it is rather annoying/embarrassing

Probably the alternator belt needs changing. Putting the AC on puts extra load on it which will cause an old belt to slip and squeak.

I dont think its the belt, its not the typical belt noise, plus I've changed all the belts so it shouldnt be that I've never heard anything like it, if i had a video to hand it would help im sure haha

Aha, found a video on the interballs, its a honda but the noise is the same, except mine sort of 'blips' instead of sustaining the noise like the video

sounds like the fan is going out. or making contact with the side housing ? actual belt noise is much screechier. that sounds like a broken electric motor....
