Allowed 11 hours driving per day back then, with a break after 5½. Think it's 9 and 4½ now; not a huge change. Strange to hear them say some hauliers didn't let their drivers use the new M1. I wonder why.

That was so annoying. How do you manage to talk about these TRX wheels and tyres for 9 minutes without showing us what it was about them that was different?

Truck Drivers of the 1950s! Like it.
In the day wife's uncle drove an articulated tanker for Tate & Lyle carrying sugar.
He used to do Liverpool to London and it was a two day journey!! T&L lorries were always immaculate as the drivers had to wash the vehicle daily - no mean feat given their size. Cheers, Pewe.

The importance to human development of housecats.. Got 2 cats living in my house, they are not domesticated, more like free-loading idiots & squatters Cats allow you to home, feed & sometimes fuss them Rich.

'Course nowadays they have a new role; in education. Since modern houses exclude most vermin, we never really see them, and it's only when you get cats that you learn the wonderful variety of mice, voles, shrews, small birds etc that live around you. Not only do they bring you examples but they thoughtfully present you with exploded diagrams so you can learn all about their anatomy.
