I love those kind of videos. As someone who works in engineering, I can really appreciate what others might think of as a boring topic. Those kind of tools are far more important than you might think. The cornerstone of engineering. Even as an electrical/electronics monkey, I still have a toolbox full of metrology stuff I use pretty much every day. That aspect of engineering really hasn't changed much since the 1950s.

think I've got 6 or 7 of the 12" flavour & a few 24" flavour on hooks in a cabinet by one of my lathes, also have an 11" rule (was trimmed by mistake in a guillotine) that gets loaned out sometimes for Shitz&giggles

+1 to mecanical over digital, also Imperial over euro-crap/mm (& I was born into the decimal system....)
