not realy, how many people programme their own ecu? it's just another pair of tables to set timing, lift & duration on 2 'camshafts' worth of solenoids guessing the programming / software wouldn't be that hard either, just a f uckload of 'If statements' and 'while loops' but then maybe I take things for granted as my Mrs's pHd was computer-thing Rich. I didn’t mean it in that context, I meant in the availability of the parts needed, I’ve had a quick look on eBay without success, unless of course you already have some tucked away in your “shed”? 😉 I've nothing like that in the Shed of Dread unfortunately but I'm guessing mil-surplous auctions would be a good place to look? did look into pnumatic valve control years ago, also nitrogen-gas capsuals in place of valvesprings (was discussed as possibly in f1 engines?) but that was about as theoretical as making hydrogen generators (with platinum coils to aggitate / split water, issue was frequency & hardware availability ~20 years ago ) but thats another story...... too many ideas...... Rich.

I had an electrolysis setup on my diesel berlingo, fun making it, but can’t say if it was effective or not. Probably would be on a larger scale than I made, good pyrotechnics with a fag lighter..,

I don't think those HHO or "Brown's Gas" electrolysis devices really help. They look like a perpetual motion scam but I've had fans arguing that it changes some thing or another which makes the engine more efficient. But the idea's been around for decades and if it actually worked then by now all big engines, like marine diesels, would have these systems fitted by the manufacturer. Anyway, at long last I found some actual research: (Okay, a BEng student dissertation, but he did the experiments) core.ac.uk/reader/11050230 Spoiler alert: It reduced NOx emissions but it made fuel economy worse.

Possibly useful at MOT time then?

Possibly useful at MOT time then? If MOT measured NOx emissions I guess so. But it doesn't.

I love language, the similarity between some written words in Spanish and english is surprising. Pronunciation makes them sound completely different though.
Gente for example is Spanish for people, but pronounced Hentey.
Gentry in English.
Easier to read a Spanish newspaper than have it read to you...
Thanks to Latin

What do you reckon - Zed's Shed of Dread - or is that multiple sheds with all the stuff you seem to have stashed away?
