At Perkins they started running the engines up on air to bench test them, never saw one myself although was there when someone forgot to tighten up the end caps on a set of connecting rods, the tester was lucky to be alive when the cap came through the crankcase

My Grandfather was at Cambrai. I always thought that, as an infantryman scrambling about alongside the tanks, that he had the rough end of the stick. Having seen the reality of being inside, I'm not so sure....either way, it was totally canoe.
