Was having a go at my little rust issue on the sill today and have cut 100mm square patch out. Found a little bit of surface rust on the inner sill so got the wire wheel out to clean up what was there so I could see what was what. All was going well until I finished a bit of rust removal and put down the grinder with the wheel still spinning to have a look where I was working. The wheel bit on the drive, kicked up and did this . . . I did have a very few choice words after this happen, most if not all will just be edited on this post, but I'm pretty sure you would know what kind of words were used ! The Mrs, as ever was fully understanding and full of sympathy, as long as that includes words like " Idiot", "Tosser" and "Idiot" again just for the extra feeling of love and compassion ! I'm always sensible when doing this kind of work with googles or such like but have never bothered with gloves to be perfectly honest. I wont be making this mistake again, although I think I got off pretty lightly with my over sight on safety.

Got a hole in your finger if you hadn't noticed mate š³ I've seen a cutting disc on a 12" angle grinder blowout before now, the bloke operating was lucky not to be injured, even with all the safety gear. Important thing is that it wasn't as bad as it coulda been and it's all still attached!

Definitely lesson learnt. Just been on eBay and ordered some butcher cut 5 gloves which should do the trick.
