Roddison-Motorsport built, Autotronix-Developments tuned 2.0 race-engine swapped NC1. Dyno proven 200 Horsepower car for sale - £4600 O.B.O
90,000 miles on the shell, 50,000 miles on the engine, 9,000 miles since the engine was built.
Shell was originally a 1.8 (and is registered as such). As such it has an open differential, 5 speed trans, no traction or stability control, and no A/C.
Car has a pretty disgusting amount of grunt and power, and pulls hard in all gears (typical NC clutch pause mapped out). Excellent base for a track car, or a damn quick back-road “weekend” car. Suspension is compliant enough to be used on the road whilst comfortable enough to waft about in. This really isn’t your typical NC.
My reason for selling up, is that the car is a little too “track & weekend-toy” orientated for use as my only car. Between wanting to let the engine get warm before setting off, as well as a heavy clutch, makes commuting with the car a less-than-pleasurable experience living in Greater London. Would be much better suited to someone who wants a B road barnstormer, weekend toy, or track car!
Additional modifications are as follows:
Racingbeat Free-Flowing Manifold
RoadsterSport Sports Cat manifold & silencer
Can also include a Racingbeat de-cat centre pipe for race/track use only for a small fee
Cobalt Backbox
Lightweight flywheel
Uprated Clutch
Bilstein Struts & Eibach Springs
RX8 Yellow dot anti roll bars
D1 boss for after-market steering wheel (snap off boss show in pictures is not included)
Original steering wheel and slip-ring included but not fitted
Horn relocated to dashboard button
Gloss black roll hoops
Black vinyl wrapped wind-shield surround (not the neatest job)
Sony stereo with Aux in
Original stereo will be provided too
Car comes with rails to fit an after-market drivers seat
Drivers seat has had the lower springs removed to lower the height (these can be easily restored as needed)
EcuTEK license on the ECU
RX8 Wiper Stalk
Shorty Antenna
Car will come on:
OEM 17s in anthracite with 4x Uniroyal Rainsport 3XLs, 6+mm tread
OEM Enkei Lightweight 16s with budget tyres are currently still in my possession, pending a suitable offer these can be included if still available should the buyer wish to use them for slicks/drifting/burnouts/track
Bad-ish bits:
Little bit of light bubbling on the rear arches
Couple of age related marks here and there, couple small dents
Passenger rear light occasionally suffers slight condensation issues
Couple of scratches on the wind shield along with a stone-chip
Bootlid has a little oxidation on the underside. Not rust, just flaked paint.
Service info is largely non-existent, however in my ownership it has had (with receipts to prove)
New aux belt
New aux belt tensioners
Thermostat and coolant flush
Spark plugs
Coil packs
Important Notes:
Due to the nature of the engine, keeping a close eye on the oil level is important. When being daily’d it would use a little during cold starts until it’s reached operating temperature. Once warm, consumption is fairly typical for any MZR
Engine is soft under 2k, again this is due to the nature of the map and engine. The mapper (Autotronix) who worked on the car has advised that with some road tuning, this can be ironed out. This can also be undertaken by any EcuTEK mapper.
Oil and plugs are recommended every 5k
ABS has been disabled “because racekor” - This can be fixed by plugging the sensor back in.
Only single key but operates all lock and operates the remote central locking
4 button with boot popper, interior monitoring disable, lock, and unlock.
