So I've been offered 3 points and 100 GBP fine or.. the speed awareness course.
Anyone done it ?

I've chosen the course.
Let the brainwashing commence!

Fun fact for the day:
If you take the points and the fine, the fine goes straight to central Government.
If you take the 'speed awareness' course, the money goes to the local Police force and any administration costs of the course, except they actually make a profit on it.
So, by taking the course, we are funding more camera activity and, effectively, paying money to the police so they don't prosecute us.
So, basically, legalised bribery.

Not to mention the fact that in a prosecution for every other 'crime', we are entitled to The Right To Silence, but if we exercise that right in regards to a motoring prosecution, we are charged with Failing to Provide under Section 176 (or whatever it is), which carries the same or even a harsher penalty than the original 'crime'...
