When I broke my mk2 I kept the Ashcott torsen diff, thinking it would be better than whatever lsd the mk1 is coming with... Will it just slot in or do I also need the mk2 driveshafts too?
Or could I put the internals of the torsen into the mk1 housing and use the mk1 driveshafts? I know I have to open mine as it needs a new gasket.
What's the best route?

you'll need the 3 mk2 driveshafts defo. you don't want to try swap the internals :-)

don't forget to get the correct crown nuts too for the side shafts - your mk1 ones will be too small - you need 32mm ones.

Only need the shafts if your new Mk.1 is an '89-'93 1.6.
If it's a 1.8 or later 1.6 it's a straight swap.
