I want a stainless/alloy flange to fit around my rear roll bar to cover the hole where it goes through the carpet, the problem is the bar isn't vertical so in order for it to look tidy it will need to be oval, this is where my problem starts
When I drew the tubing to scale the difference in diameter of the hole was approximately 10mm front to back vs side to side, I know I will need some clearance for it to fit but I don't want 6/7mm on either side.
Further complication is caused by the flange needing to be in two halves (to fit) and to complicate things further I want four with two at 90 degrees to the lower to make sure it sits flat on the parcel shelf.
I use a free online 2d drawing package and even though I can draw the flanges it won't allow me to put the dimension of the oval on.
Any ideas?

not helpful cadwise but.. make a nice big grommet out of rubber hose ? cut down one side, slip it over the sharp edges..

There's no problem with sharp edges, I'd like the flange to finish off the area around the bar, purely cosmetic.
Think I'm going to email the laser company and see what they suggest

I know the kind of thing you're looking for I use Autodesk Fusion 360 for projects at home, and AutoCAD professionally, for work. Send me/post what you currently have, and I'll see if I can sketch something up. render by James Edmond, on Flickr

So mk2 will be similar to the one on the left pictured in the above link. As the shape isn't so complex I've managed to draw one on my crappy free sketch program, its not complete and I've further measurements to do before sending it off to be cut. Anyway thanks for the offer My rubbish CAD work
