Ty Croes, Harewood, Lyden & 3 sisters are good calls as they’re not popular so you stand a good chance of good points. Same goes for Croft but it’s flipping miles away.
So far I entered Gurston both days & Prescott.
Still got some jobs to do on the car though- HSDs, coolant reroute & engine mounts.

Sandy, I can't work out if you mean you are chasing an autosolo championship? If so, which one?

Sandy, I can't work out if you mean you are chasing an autosolo championship? If so, which one? I'm coming for you Jim I've entered a few BTRDA/CSMG/ASWMC but as I am in the throws of house buying, moving etc, I can't really commit to do much so any championship will be difficult for me to chase to be honest but I'll do what I can, solos are cheap and most done in a day so more likely to do this over sprints.

From the list of speed events you posted Sandy, I've done most of these at some point. Loton is fantastic, Harewood is good but a long way, I like Lydden (although I did put my Mini on it's roof at Devils elbow!) I didn't really think Abigdon was that good considering the cost. Goodwood is great too.
I won't be doing a full season of cmsg events, it's too difficult to win with the points structure used.
I am hoping to get enough btrda rounds in to have a chance.

CMSG changed the points structure such that non championship entrants no longer impact score, if that is what you are on about. I did wonder about whether Abingdon would be any good, probably too flat out and featureless, plus not enough technical bits for an MX5, I've done most of the sprints/hills within a couple of hours, so the newer stuff for me is a lot further out, I don't mind travelling so long as I can get a good nights sleep, of course fuel and accommodation adds to the cost of the sprints which is why I might not get too as many as I would like, I camped at the last few though that saved some dough

Signed up to my first CM event Anglesey 5/6th of May. Did the track day last week, its a really nice track, it is right on the limit of how much I want to travel for an event though, blimey, I think I've got to family in Scotland in less time despite the greater distance.
Got my weigh in and Dyno next week to sort the handicap out,

Just back from Northampton Motorsport.
Figures from them are
power: 190bhp ( which ties in with every other dyno I have been on) weight: 1125kg ( must stop adding weight with upgrades, need to focus on reduction for next season ) weight + me: 1266kg ( must stop adding weight with pies, need to focus on reduction for next season )
So that will set my handicap for the base timing algorithm to 90.

Just out of interest what is my timing algorithm?

Formula for base timing is LOG(350*BHP-per-tonne)/LOG(350*500)
So looks like 96%, 2.5 of that is 1B penatly.
That is assuming I have read the rules right.
EDIT- scrubbed that last bit and re-read.
So If I understand how it works taking Wiscombe as an example,
Events under 50s are calculated as event time adjusted by your percentage, so you pulled 46.89, I did 47.89 but with timing algorithm adjustment I would have a time of 43.1 and you would have 45.
Of course I was on 1Bs so need to add 2.5 to my algorithm, my time was only 0.01 faster than my 1A PB due to sloppiness bug adjusted it would of made it closer at 44.3.
So I would beat you both days rather than just one works for me of course depending on who else has what would determine who would take top spot as everyone has a timing adjustment, so you won't know where you are placed until someone has done the maths, but I guess once you know fellow competitor timing adjustment factor you might get a feel for that off the cuff I suppose.
At Combe and Curbs I think you would have still kicked my rear canoe but I'll be honest it is a bit more complicated over 50s so not sure i am understanding the revised formula correctly.

So just for fun....
Curbrough adjusted = You 63.49 Me 63.62 (63.08 best run but in practice!) Prescott adjusted = You 48.77 Me 47.64
Wed have had some close battles!

I still think I prefer the out and out who is fastest aspect. Lets see how this season goes first. Shelsley Midland should be fun - me and two 911 GT3s in the Midland Champs!

Whats your cars timing algorithm Howard? Last year 90.2% so I applying that to the test times, you beat me by 0.3 sec. but we know we can go faste, right???
