Yeah I should be good up Prescott but still haven’t got the hang of driving a car with such little torque: My previous pb was 48.7 in the Griff but it had 300lb torque & list 1B tyres. It’ll be nice if I can get into the 52s & the Porsches have to go 6% quicker- should be close. Let’s hope they turn the PASM off........

So, Prescott is always full of surprises- this time fog!!! It was a late start at 10:30 as the marshalls couldn’t see from one post to another. The 1 & only practice was pretty slippery so I just tootled up the hill. With no lunch break, the proper timed runs continued straight after which was great as the sun came out & the track was drying significantly. Previously in this car I had managed a PB of 53.10 at Prescott but really wanted to go a bit quicker.....
Off the start, so far so good, not too much wheelspin & rev out in 1st, then second, into 3rd for the long left of Orchard & hold the accelerator whilst trying not to slide onto the grass. A quick stab on the accelerator then heel & toe down change for a wide entry into Ettores, clip the concrete & nail the accelerator up to Pardon. I managed to get the braking point right & the car just grips amazingly round the hairpin. Up through the esses with a down change in time for the the 2nd right, late apex the last left & stamp on the accelerator & hold 2nd to the limiter. Big lift then turn in for semi-circle, all you can see is sky.... A little bit drift-tastic but seemed to work ok, then a blast to the line.
Toby’s short shift kit worked well & the HSDs let me really lean on the tyres... Managed to get a time of 51.93- an improvement of 1.17 sec, this was good enough to come second on handicap behind the quickest of the 3 boxsters, More tat for the cabinet.....

Came 2nd in Classic Marques by 0.04 sec out of 22 in class. Was about .8 down on the Abingdon course with a 56.25 but kicked ass on the Bentley which is a test of late braking & chuckability which suits the MX5 & managed a 50.41.
Nice to see Horney in his Mini doing ok.

Good luck at Gurston, you should do well. Hopefully Prescott will stay dry for you..
I’m next a Snetterton for a double header 23/24 June, then Combe on the 28th July.
