Extortion I don't need to worry about second vehicle insurance now, couldn't make my mind up regarding which car to buy so blew the money on a set of new Cobra seats and fitting kit  |

its odd that greenlight went up. mine is slightly lower
though i have found that when you shop around you usually find a cheaper one than renewal. you'd think these companies would want to keep your custom

Yup A plan have just beaten Greenlights first quote by ~50% on a new business quote  Greenlight also called up and re-quoted me, I dropped my mileage down from 12k to 5k and that got them back to £360 but some way off A-plans £245. Still more work to do. |

I struggle come renewal. The Eunos was easy, but the Stagea is such a niche car. Greenlight put mine up but not so much that it was worth three days of sitting on the phone. If it goes up again though I will definitely have to leave. My issue has been classic car policies and no NCB accrual (and a couple of speeding tickets but the last one was nearly 10 years ago now). Multi car policies therefore rarely work in my favour. Now I’ve accrued some I’ll have to look in to it but I need fewer cars not more!

Still more work to do. thats a very decent price from A-Plan I guess i should have shopped around, but laziness and the fact my renewal was similar to last year won out. i'm also only paying it off for 9 months thanks to the finance plan they gave me (which included a £100 up front deposit mind you) |

Its fair to say if Greenlight hadn't upped their premium so much I wouldn't have shopped around, so they've done me a favour Greenlight do have a bespoke insurer they can try but they suggested I get some quotes first and they'll only do one offer and i'll have to take it then and there, quite a bit to come down too, I'd like to get it under 200 like the rest of my cars, gotta have a goal Part of me says just go with the guys that gave me an honest quote in the first place though. |

AIB have always been good for me, have 2 cars with them on separate policy's, always seem to get the best prices, and always straight through to an operator, none of this call centre Canoe Spheres.

FYI, Just had an interesting call from A-plan, they have been reviewing social media etc, researching the car and see that it has been on Rallies and track etc. and they just wanted to confirm that I know I am not covered for this.
I’m sure all insurers probably do it but never really thought about it, so there you go, if you are not informing your insurers of things you do to your vehicle but are active on Social media, they may know and could void your policy.
