Was the likeliest option mate but I can’t justify having a paddle clutch on a daily.

Nice one thanks mate,
Some good options there. Liking the Exedy Stage 1 from mx5parts!

Avoid a paddle clutch. I hated mine on the road. Was awesome on track though.
I’d go Exedy or Skuzzle.

What about lightweight flywheel options? There’s a few I’ve got my eye on (G19 and skuzzle).

Lightened flywheels are ace. My opinion is buy a cast one, not a skimmed down standard one. I believe that both G19s and Skuzzles are proper cast light weight flywheels.

You could get yours lightened (or another lightened to save time, cheap for second hand ones), or either of the above. A few other options available as well eg mx5parts etc.

Agree with Atlex and Horney on paddle clutches and ultra light flywheels. Originally I put a 4.5kg flywheel and paddle clutch in my 1.6 s/c NA for fast road, track and Solos. It wasn't until I changed it for a 5.2kg flywheel and full section cera-metallic friction disc I realised that the 4.5 set up was unpleasant in that it caused shunt & noise, particularly on the over-run and was pretty snatchy. So far the 5.2 set-up has performed well, even double driven at Solos there's no sign of slip. TBH I suspect a lot of these clutches are sourced from the same factories - its just the branding which is different. HTH. Cheers, Pewe.

I've an Exedy clutch and Mazdaspeed lightened flywheel,Exedy seems a quality piece of kit.
If it's a 1.6 you've got, I think someone just listed a lightened flywheel in the for sale ads today on here.

I’m definitely after a billet flywheel rather than a standard lightened one, don’t dancy potentially having my ankles chopped by a shattered flywheel.
It’s for a 1.6 but clutch going in is 1.8 size so that Ebay one would be no good. Will pick out the hat between skuzzle and G19.
