Hi all. Hopefully I’m putting this in the right area...
I’m currently restoring my new-to-me G-ltd Eunos. It’s being undersealed, all suspension parts powder coated and all bushes replaced with new.
Now, my question is this. What would it be worth after all this? I’m looking to get an agreed value insurance, but what is reasonable for such a vehicle?
After everything I’ve done, which includes swapping diffs to a 3.6:1 Torsen, the car will owe me (including purchase price) about £6.5k. But I’m assuming it would not be worth that if I were to sell. That said, should insurance give you a like-for-like car in the unhappy event of a right-off?
Any thoughts welcome.

Give us some pics and info on rust and quality of interior etc. Really tidy mk1s fetch strong money these days.

Values are absolutely all over the place at the moment
As it's a Limited, you can get a decent amount for it. Maybe more than £3k, but have a look at numerous different places like pistonheads and carandclassic to get a vague idea of the market

Desperately need photos and info to better judge it heh.
Also, some sellers are taking the mick. I don't think many mk1/mk2s are worth over 7K even in pristine condition. You rarely (i.e. never) get your money back on mods.

In terms of never making money back on mods, of course you are right. However, I'm concerned that after all the money and time spent, if the worst were to happen, I'd not be able to find another as solid. When I was looking for a car, I could not find one to this standard, hence having to do it myself! So a quick run down of the car: The interior is average. Standard apart from the headunit and a TR Lane roll bar. It has just had a brand new hood fitted. In terms of work underneath, it has been undersealed and all suspension parts powdercoated and all bushes replaced. Brakes refurbished and painted and a 3.6:1 diff installed. The paint is pretty good and will polish up very nicely, but is filthy at the moment! This is a picture when I first picked it up: IMG_2515 by Jon Fellows, on Flickr As I say, any thoughts welcome, and I do realise that time and money expended does not necessarily equate to great value!

I have an agreed valuation with my insurer of 4K on my 1992 mk1 import. Had it independently valued and then sent them the valuation. ISTR it cost me £80

Talk to Adrian Flux. The agreed value on my MK2 YM 1999 1.8 with all modifications disclosed is AGRRED IN WRITTING at £10K. This is standard practice for Adrian Flux. It has nothing to do with "market-values". I have insured many agreed value cars with AidrianFlux, it has never been an issue.
You don't even need to get it valued independently. They require 4 photographs. Of course many more is better and an inspection, not valuation is also helpful. My case is helped by receipts for all the works done, but it's not essential.
I agreed this only 7 days ago.
Regards. Rich.

This is having the v6 conversion right?
Speak to Greenlight about one of their agreed value policies. I always find them about the cheapest but their policies are very good and the customer service is excellent.

Thanks for the feedback.
This is indeed for my V6 swap, but I want to get it insured and out on the road before I start that work to get some use out of it in the sun this summer (assuming we get one...) and to fault find any little niggles from the underside rebuild.
I have used greenlight before, so may talk to them. Sadly, my experience of Adrian Flux is that they try to do you over at every possible turn, so if I can, I'll avoid them.

What if your cars worth more than the sum of it's parts, I picked my car up for £300 with solid cill's and just the odd supermarket dent (being resprayed as I type) I've fitted HSD's, cat back, wheels and a later interior and it probably still only owes me about 2.5k but I'd struggle to find one for that price, especially with all new paint.

+1
Don't forget they are a broker not an insurer - it's likely they put any modified vehicle with Highway (now part of the LV group so I'm hoping less utterly impossible to claim from if required than they used to be) or Markerstudy (who don't get great reviews online...) so it's worth checking the small print.
