I've got a set of Meister Zeta-S on my mk1. Had them on my first mx5 for 2 years and now on my current mx5 for roughly 2 years. As anyone who owns them will know they offer a great ride.
About 6months ago the ride got really harsh. I'm now at the point where my car crashes and bangs over any size bump or hole. It definitely didn't used to be like this.
I started thinking maybe it's the bushes as they look tired and I'm pretty sure they are the original ones. I asked at the garage after my mot last week about them and they said they were fine although I'm not convinced.
My other concern is that it could be the Meisters. Changing the dampening settings seems to have no effect at all. It used to make quite a big difference. I remember when I first got them the car felt like it was on pillows at soft settings!
Anyone else experienced this or any suggestions on what it could be?

They may be in need of a service

Check your alignment too. That made a big difference on my BCs anyway.

I'd reach out to MeisterR themselves.

+1 to needing a service - 4 years is a reasonable amount of time for a damper that is designed to be firm, and I am sure that it must be more stressful for such dampers than the floaty, wallowy things on 'normal' cars!

You may be ableto get service and alignment done together if you go to Wheels in Motion

He said that it is possible to service them, but it may not be economical to do so

You could try a small independent suspension expert?
There’s a place near me I use at work (LRS Mechanical) that specialise in bike’s but are just generally all round suspension experts.

He further explained that it would be roughly £100/shock if you found someone to service them...which is only just over half the cost of new ones so personally it could work out as an option
