I suspect got myself snapped by a camera van doing somewhere just under 90 in a 50 zone. I spotted him pretty early and stood on the anchors but I'm not that hopeful that he didn't get me before I saw him although he was a long way off still.
Stupid, stupid me. They recently put in a laybys for camera vans and I drive this bit of road all the time. Just a momentary "ooh it's sunny, the roads are empty, the car just passed the MOT, lets hoof it off this roundabout" moment.
A quick google suggests I'm looking at 6 points and a large fine as a minimum, strong chance of a short ban.
I've had a clean licence for 20+ years and I do occasionally like a spirited drive so I guess this was going to happen eventually. I'm very cross with myself for being an idiot. The next few weeks of waiting for the post will not be fun.
Not looking for any advice at this point, certainly not looking for any sympathy.
Be careful out there peeps!

I don't think you'll be getting the speed awareness course with that one Gentle reminder to drive the road at the speed limit first before driving it how it was meant to be.

I think they have to observe you to assess if you're speeding before they zap you, so you may be alright if you got on the brakes quick and were head-on (therefore more difficult to assess speed of)!
Does annoy me that you never see camera vans down residential side streets that all the chavs race down, only on wide-open dual carriageways with nothing about to hit
[/classic rant]

I thought I'd got snapped at 90+ on the M27 just a few days after buying the Swedish Canoe enlarger. I didn't in the end so I must have been lucky.
I only put my foot down on the Motorway or Europe now and very rarely over 85. Having been banned (albeit not for a speeding offence) 4 odd years ago, I do value my licence now and have stopped driving like a moron.
In some respects getting a driving ban is a good kick up the rear canoe. I got fit from riding a bike for 10 months and saved a lot of money on not having a car.
Pretty certain you'll be in the magistrates for that if anything comes from it, not a nice experience at all but yesterday's news is tomorrow's fish and chip paper.

I share your anquish but hope it works out for you, got done for 38 in a 30 in my old jag about a week before i traded it for the supercharged v8 ironically! Then on the way back from dropping my new jag in to the dealer for some snagging I was on the a303 dual carriageway in somerset and I know its dodgy - was doing 90 in (this is true) my old jag which they'd given me as a courtesy car, saw the van and slammed on the anchors - then spent 2 weeks in anquish thinking that 6 points would really ruin my fun (and give the insurance co carte blanche to rob me!) 4 weeks later and nothing - i sincerely hope I dodged it and that you are as lucky as me! (i think 14 days is the max?)

8 months for making a gesture and swearing (how did they hear that or do they employ lip readers now)? Meanwhile burglaries are no longer investigated.. What a crap world ....

Big big oops mate but when you drive like we sometimes do, it’s not if but when....
I got caught last summer doing 43 in a 30. Awareness course and off I went. 90 in a 50.... we’ll see what happens. 14 days to receive the letter so clench your cheeks for 2 weeks.
