Need to fit new hangers as it's clanging against the chassis brace so that's something for this weekend
Then when I get paid I might get the full version of Tunerstdio and see if I can play with my MS2

bit more progress made this weekend when i changed the engine mounts Off came the exhaust manifold for ease of access  Then i swapped the new mounts straight onto the brackets after being advised the cup isn't strictly necessary and allow the engine to drop a little (which will help get the strut brace to stop fouling the inlet manifold)   Then after the really annoying process of getting the driver's side mount back on (there's literally everything in the way and 4 bolts to line up) i moved onto the passenger footwell  In preparation for eventually fitting an MS2, i moved the ECU up into the airbag recess in my mk2 dash. This will allow easier access for tuning the MS2 later on, plus means the damp footwell i discovered won't affect it  Getting the wiring loom the loop back past itself behind these 2 units was a huge pain (in some cases literally, got some nice scratches up my right arm from reaching past all that lovely metal), then i cut the bottom off the airbag cover so it would fit back on   But it was worth the effort, just need to figure out a method of fixing it down   Next weekend hopefully the weather will be good and i'll have received the poly exhaust hangers which should stop the exhaust clanking against stuff |

Good idea, mine is still in the footwell. Make yourself a nice long USB lead that you can leave permanently connected to the MS and tuck out of the way, mines about 5ft long, then you can easily play with Tunerstudio whilst fiddling under bonnet, or if you’re dead posh get the Bluetooth thingy

Got myself an extended ftdi cable from BOFI ages ago, so that's ready to put somewhere around the glovebox area or down where the bolt cover is...need to work out where the IAT is going yet and purchase/borrow a tap and die to out a thread for it into the intake pipework

Decided to go for it anyway...those poly hangers are a nightmare to fit! had to file down the knob end of the brackets on the car to get them to fit on. Also i think this comparison with mx5parts exhaust on the bottom and cybox on the top explains partly why i'm having issues  then here is the result of fitting it back on...   So i gave up with that idea and threaded the vac line into the new ECU location instead    That'll do for a bit. need to wait for pay day now and i can start working out what parts to get next |

Oil the rubber hangers, they slip on easily then!

With these being poly, they don't stretch quite as much as rubber ones...so had to give it smaller area to expand to! Oil did help so much though, didn't do much for my grip on them though  |

Put these on today, need to decide what colour to make them as they need a bit of refurb. Leaning towards a slightly darker silver than they are now, but very tempted by gold  |
