....of a hardtop. UK to Portugal. Anyone have any experience of sending a large car part to another country ? Any idea of costs ?
My mate had his roof slashed having just moved to Portugal and one option is for me to locate one here, then ship out to him.
Sound viable ?

They’re really fragile when off the car so I’d be wanting to build some sort of frame to hold it inside a large box.
Better just to fit it to your car and drive to Portugal for a holiday and deliver it to them.

Use a neoprene wetsuit repair kit on the soft top in the mean time..

Thanks for the input, guys. He has 'repaired' the area temporarily and we may have a lead (thanks to Felipe) of an English guy who breaks MX5's in Portugal so thats probably the sensible and likely productive route.... I'd love to drop everything and zip down to Portugal with a roof, but unfortunately running a business/work/life/teenager commitments mean thats not an option right now. He'll be along soon to resume the story as he's promised to join the forum and get involved.
