Hi all
Probably been asked a thousand times before already but, can I fit 16 x 8 wheels to my Mk2.5 euphonic without arch rubbing or panel fettling ?
I have 16 x 7 lenso's with an offset of et38 on at the moment with toyo t1r rubber with no issues but there looks to be plenty of room to squeeze an extra inch of traction in the arches.
Is this possible and what et and tyre size wold I need ?
thanks in advance.

Bigger question is are you lowered?
16x8 with no body mods is a big ask.

Yes it is lowered on meister R coilovers but not excessively as I can still get over speed humps with no issues, also have between 1 and 1.5 degrees of camber on the rear too.

What offset are they?
Use tyre calculator to see which tyres will give the best match for the OEM diameter

www.willtheyfit.com/Try and keep within the margin that 949 Racing built into the 6ULs. They've built a wheel that doesn't need any mods and fits perfectly on a MK1 and MK2.. 15x8 ET +36 + 195/50R15 The limits before you really hit arch rolling territory, even on MK2.5s is this (from the Enkei Apache2s) are probably: 15x8 ET +25 + 195/50R15 As you get closer to ET10 (or more) you will need to move more metal out the way. Frankly I wouldn't bother trying to get new 16" wheels for an MK2.5... 15" wheels have better availability and are lighter with very cheap tyres widely available (195/50R15). I had the huge standard (sexy) heavy enkei 16" wheels on my MK2.5 euphonic and the switch to 15" 6ULs completely solved all the rubbish handling problems with the car. excuse the standard suspension but the standard MK2.5 handling was excellent.

Hiya Thanks for the advice there, as there seems to be a lot of mx5er's on 15 inch wheels I've decided to go down the route of 15x8's with an offset of ET25 with 205.50.15 tyres which should fit without any issues, hopefully. I know there is a lot of choice with regards to tyres but there seems to be a lot of opinions when it comes to which tyres are best for 15 inch rims, at the moment I have Toyo T1R's on my 16's and I find them very good but am open to trying a generally preferred brand and type if the general consensus is that they are and work the best with this fitment choice. Speak to me people before I spend my hard earned.

I have put 15x8 et28 wheels on mine, with 195 section AD08Rs (so have a tiny amount of stretch). I had to roll my arches front and rear to get them to not rub under sudden compression.
I'm lowered, but not slammed or anything like it.
