Good Afternoon. I know this section is wheels and suspension. As I have removed my body from the wheels and suspension, this may or may not be the right place, but I wasn't sure where else to Ask! I have lifted the body shell from my MK1. Needs a lot of welding. I am making a rotisserie so I can spin the body to make it easier to get the welding done. My question is, does anyone know how to attach the body to a rotisserie? I plan to bolt it to the sub frame bolt holes, but thought I better ask advice. Any thoughts? Ian

if the main bodyshell structure is sound then I'd use the bumper mount positions:?

Zoona made a spit, which I am currently borrowing. The front plate is bolted to the chassis rail cover plate holes (chassis rail cover plates need removing for this) and the rear plate is bolted to the mounting point for the big plastic lump behind the rear bumper. Car is a little top heavy but manageable. I'd say if you try to use the subframe mounts then you'll have a hell of a job trying to rotate it round!

Thanks for the advice. Will have to have a look when home for these other points mentioned, not familiar with them. My jig will be able to adjust for centre of gravity so hopefully should spin easily.
