Hi folks,
I just thought I would do a post on my Clutch Slave mods.
I am building a Mk1 Eunos up for fast road and hill climb use.
Mk2.5 Block / Mk2 head ported and deshrouded 60thou skimmed / Piper 285's / Danst GSXR ITB's etc etc
I have fitted a Helix group N clutch and decided that I wanted a light clutch pedal.
( Wife has had both hips replaced ) And yes We are in the OC age group but I just can't stop tinkering.
I started to look at how all the modern front wheel drive smoky torque monsters had a light clutch.
The answer I found was they all use a concentric slave cylinder, this unit is a thrust race and slave cylinder all in one unit.
I did a bit of research an bought a Saab concentric slave unit.
I took the front of the gearbox off and put it on my Myford lathe and turned the nose piece till the Saab unit was able to fit.
I made an adjustable spacer / anti rotation mount to take the unit.
I then made up a goodridge hose to go straight from the master cylinder to the concentric slave unit.
This is now all rigged up and gives a lighter than standard pedal feel.
If I did this again I would choose a Concentric slave with a remote bleed take off, the Saab unit had to be bled before the gearbox and engine were mated.
