And yes We are in the OC age group but I just can't stop tinkering Brill. I've a Myford7 (in need of repair with a snapped toolpost so buried in the workshop) but use a 1953 Kerry for general jobbing (little bigger / longer & has a proper gearbox) - invaluable for those little ideas did you use a cylinder from a transverse engine'd SAAB or the earlier inline 99/900 type? thought the earlier type had seperate feed&bleed porting? keep up the good work Rich.

Hi Zed.
I am not sure which one I used, I should have the details in my project file somewhere. ( I suspect it might have been the 900 type ) My Myford has been replaced with a Harrisom M300, big industrial lathe, It cost £400 more than I sold the Myford for. The Harrison will take the Mx5 flywheel for lightening removing inertia ring.

Hi Zed, The car is still in a few bits but is running I have run the engine depressing the clutch and putting in gear and running on Axle stands with no wheels fitted and applied the brakes whilst under power. The pedal pressure is very light, The other RS has the standard clutch and a heavier pedal pressure. If I did this again I would find a concentric slave cylinder with a Bleed Hose fitting. I bled my system with the gearbox not attached to the engine which worked fine, the slave is fitted fully compressed, fluid line connected topped up reservoir then pump pedal till slave extends fully then manually close to expel air. I used Goodridge 600 self assembly hose and fittings making sure it was a constant rise up to the master cylinder so the air would rise out. The Helix Group N clutch was built to order for me. Any other questions and I will try and help.
Austin now entered for VSCC Wiscombe in May and Prescott in August. I will use the Eunos or the Austin for Werrington Park.
Cheers Dickie
