They're pretty good
If you are near Wales, Jack Smith Trimmers are the ones who get the biggest rep

Cheers for that but jack Smith is a bit far from me tho' prices are excellent.
Any advantages in shelling out more for Mohair?

It's a far better material. Having seen how good Bambi's mohair roof is, I don't want to have vinyl again. For starters it looks much better

I'd never go back to a vinyl hood again, after having a mohair one for a few years... They are just 'nicer'..
My parents got a mk1 mohair hood from mx5parts - they are doing free fitting at the moment as well (currently listed at £429 for a PVC rear screen, bit more for glass). They had a few issues with it initially (manufacturing issue), but MX5Parts sorted it out and swapped it for a new one without a lot of hassle..

I’m probably going to use MX5 parts for a replacement hood on the Mk3.

If you are near Wales, Jack Smith Trimmers are the ones who get the biggest rep realy? I live near Swansea & would'nt have thought about going to Jack (is he still alive? last had a seat re-trimmed by him in 1990ish ) my NA needs it's hood replacing, judging by the prices I've seen then I'm either going to look for a hardtop OR buy another spares-car & hope the hood is re-usable Rich.

Jack Smiths Trimmers
£270 I think it was for a pvc rear window mohair hood fitted.
Great quality, fast turnaround and make a day out of Swansea. Save a few hundred over over fitters.
