I fancied a change, so I bought a saloon! My mk1 is being sold to a mate who will be using it as a daily while he fixes his one up.
It's a 99 reg IS200 SE, 2.0 1GFE inline 6, 6 speed manual, all the extras you could ask for (and they all work apart from the main interior light as bulb has blown).
Big mileage at 153,000, but pretty clean apart from a few dings and marks. Engine starts and runs really smoothly and it's pretty well refined (for now).

Initial impression is great, never owned a saloon, or anything with any kind of modern features. The drive even with the 30mm lowering springs is smooth, the engine pulls well, not exactly fast but definitely has a bit more midrange power than the 5. Traction control works, power steering is super light when parking, air con blows cold, heated seats are awesome, gearbox has short throw and is very smooth as well. Also seems well put together and doesn't rattle, it's taking some getting used to.
Question mark over service history, not much paperwork, but cambelt and water pump looks simple enough and doesn't cost much, so will likely just do that when I service it.
No idea what direction it will take, a couple of friends are tempting me to drift it, they seem capable with a few mods. A guy locally is breaking his for parts and has the Sport LSD, so I may treat it to that instead of the standard open that comes on the SE. He also has the TRD kit that came on the Sport so might get that as well if the price is right. Also the rear lights are all scratched up after a rear tint removal, so may change these anyway, I really prefer the red LED type with clear lower strip to the "Lexus lights" clear style.
All in all pretty impressed for the small amount I paid for it. Engine has a lovely sound but the exhaust is far far too quiet! Going to be sorting that soon. No straight pipe crap though, going to go for a decent system, these engines sound awesome with the right exhaust on.
