Been lurking for a while(16 months) so thought it was time I introduced myself. My name is Ty based in Herts and have been thinking on and off for a couple of years about getting a 5. well as of February after selling my heavily modified track/sort of road R53 Cooper S(a car that is familiar to our leader horney, hi Nick) I got myself a copper red prht Mk3.5 sport. I have made a few simple cosmetic changes already, dechrome, debaged rear, Amber side indicators, colour coded roll hoop covers, lamborghini bronze oem alloys, cobalt exhaust and many hours of machine polishing but will be leaving it mostly alone, spent more time under the Mini than in it and getting too old for rolling about on the ground. I'm totally useless at putting pics but if anyone is interested I have photos of the Mini and soon the 5 on my Instagram p19_muf

Welcome! The Mk3 seems to me to be a great combination of refinement and enjoyment, and they seem to be a very reasonable price nowadays! Yeah. I really like mk1s but very happy with the mk3.5 after spending 7 years building/developing breaking, crashing, fixing the mini I wanted something I could just drag out of the garage and use with minimal messing about and spend more time driving it. I sold the mini due to health issues so had to take that into account when I bought a new toy. I will end up modifying it a bit(famous last words) but will farm some of the work out and beg for help with some |

Yep was a very hard decision to sell, I had put in so much time and effort building it but real life and all that, apart from always having had a soft spot for 5s l couldn't see a better option as a replacement for the mini. I will try to be restrained with my obsessive modifying addiction |

It was a proper sleeper, 1275 with big valve race head, billet 1.5 full roller rockers, ect, ect. 7.5 inch banded mk1 steels. Only had 9k miles on it when I sold it, bought it at 6k |

Little old lady had it before me from new. The previous 10 years before I bought it it was garaged and only got driven to the mot with very rare trips into town of a mile or so, some years purely the mot trip |
