looks like a dropped outback nice tho. I've got all my cars remapped for 95 or 97 lately. the carib can even run on 92 but especially has a knock sensor for that, not that you can find 92 anywhere around here. 99 has been a bit of a curse. Where I'm at even the shells don't have v-power/99.. it's 98!

I guess the remote areas of Russia are unlikely to be stocking V-Power, though... lol

I really liked my twinscroll - as said it was plenty quick, very understated and a bit different... The downsides were the requirement for quality super unleaded (it was recommended to use VPower or Tesco only, we moved house and there's only BP stations locally), and again due to a move out into the sticks the hard JDM bilsteins and skinny tyres were not a good match to rough country roads and very deep potholes...
I'm in the country and don't find the ride too hard, but depends on your passengers tolerance as well! Not sure I could support the Leggy as a daily, but that's why we have an electric car, it's almost free motoring and no need to waste petrol on the slog to work. Here's the wagon:

I've sorted out the wheel situation now, I think. I've ordered 4 new Traklite Gear wheels from our friend Nick D at MOT Motorsport. He had a couple of sets left in stock, in MX5 NC fitment (5x114.3, 17x7.5, et 45) which as luck would have it is just the size I was looking for. They're suitably light at 7kg. I calculate I'll be saving 7kg a corner with a 225/50x17 PS4 over the 18x8.5 STI wheels with 245/40x18 Avon ZZ5s which are on it at the moment. Should make a noticeable difference. And they're not black. I don't like black wheels.

7kg a corner!
That should make a massive difference.

That should make a massive difference. It certainly has. Fitted them today, and the low speed ride has improved a lot, steering feel is better, no tram lining, and the car feels more agile and nimble. Result. If anyone with a NC needs some light 17s, better give Nick at MOT Motorsport a bell and get a set of these - same weight as RPF1, less than half the cost. I think he has a couple of sets left.

Just seen this, that looks great man! Always been tempted to drop the FSTi down to 17s at with a chunkier tyre but Brembo clearance restricts the type of wheelface/look I want.
Also, I'm wondering what the 2021 STi version of this Levord will come with powerwise, apparenltly it will be a 1.8 so not sure that translates to big hp...

BTW lowender, I presume you are scoobyfoz on the UKL forum? My username's the same on both.

I know. Travesty. The new WRX is expected to look similar to the new grovel, with a 2.4 DIT. STI version is rumoured to be 400 hp. Not for sale in Europe. Bah. Yep, that's me on UKL.

Yeah that's not a lot is it!!!! All this has inspired me to look randomly at Legacys on eBay, must admit I do like! Beginner question.... whats the twin scroll mean? Is this twin turbo, small into big sort of thing?

All this has inspired me to look randomly at Legacys on eBay, must admit I do like! Beginner question.... whats the twin scroll mean? Is this twin turbo, small into big sort of thing? No, it's one turbo but has two inlets so delivers smoother power. In practice it means there's no noticeable turbo lag from lower revs, but also no big wallop of power like with a bigger single turbo.
Gen 3 Legacy was twin turbo (two separate turbos) and Gen 4 was twinscroll turbo. There are also flat six 3 litre (H6) normally aspirated in both generations.
Gen 4 had a facelift in about 2006, and there are differences between pre- and post-facelift so you'd want to decide about that too. Facelift Gen 4s have a few more toys, and the autos had flappy paddles, but they cost more and some are in the higher tax bracket (£550pa). Engines are the same, but facelift come with multiple engine modes. 'Spec.B' mostly means they have Bilstein suspension, though that may have been replaced by now.
Mine is a Gen 4 JDM pre-facelift twinscroll spec B:

I had a JDM post facelift Spec-B.. The lights are slightly different, slightly different grill and it got SI Drive which is the switchable sports/sports#/eco mode (which is more throttle mapping than anything else). There's also some later models which got Keyless entry and a few other bonuses. Tax was still low as it was an import so confused the DVLA I had it remapped to circa 300BHP (which is around the 'safe' limit on a standard engine), which gave it much more midrange shove than standard, much more like a turbo car with how the power was delivered than the smooth factory map. The only downsides were the ride was a bit crashy over potholes (due to the Spec-B bilsteins and skinny tyres on the 19" wheels), and that it wanted Shell or Tesco SUL and there's not that much of it round here. I changed jobs and decided I really wanted a Range Rover so got rid of it - in hindsight that was a terrible move, the RR went wrong, a *lot* and ended up being a total liability. In the end I px'd it for another scooby - this time a 3.6R Outback which is another understated slightly rare oddity!

Definitely not many 3.6s around, is it JDM or Australian? I hear they are very good with a supercharger...
My twinscroll has been remapped but is otherwise completely standard, I got 295bhp on the dyno which is plenty for the 'sensible family car'!
