Hi Horney, Its a very bumpy surface as you can see by the way I am bouncing about in the seat, ( stock seats and belt but using a CG lock ) runway surface is very grippy. The engine is on stock rods and pistons at the moment. I had to limit my spending while I built the car up from a bare import bodytub, I am now collecting bits for the next stage of engine developement. I am lucky that Cornwall has quite a few decent sprint and hillclimb venues. They run this sprint venue in the reverse direction as well.

I'll have to get my backdown down there and compete in some, I've go family in the Bodmin area to stay with.

Hi Scottydugg, I might well have had an airbox with remote filter fitted for that event !!!! I have recorded over 100 Decibels in the cabin whilst playing !!!
I need to keep the noise levels down to keep the wife happy and to keep the scrutineers on side. I am collecting bits for the next stage of engine developement.

Hi, I thought I was taking it easy !!! It had only been finished for a month and the drive to the event was the furthest it had been driven ! about 50 miles from home. self done alignment as well. Running extended lower control arms on the front at stock ride height and stock shocks and springs both ends. It was dynoed at 169 BHP 127 ft lb @ 6400 RPM. After it was dynoed I fitted a cold air intake with airbox and remote filter for the event as I recorded over 100 DB inside the car with the foam air filter I have changed the axis on the mapping to allow 8000 rpm and raised the rev limit to 7600 Rpm since the mapping and have a set of EV14 injectors to install. I am waiting for another airbox ITG an a couple of other parts to improve the induction system the first airbox is too big a diameter at 4" More suited to a Turbo install. I will have it properly tuned again once its over its winter hibernation.

I might have to invest in a Bucket Seat and harness, you can see how much I was bouncing around, the CG lock is quite good ! but the runway was very bumpy and undulating so I had to have a fairly loose grip on the steering wheel so as not to suffer from a different kind of bump steer !!! I could have braked a lot later into the crossover and bottom wiggle hairpin. It was all about finding out how the car worked. I have been lucky with my geo set up it was very neutral with no big understeer or oversteer I think the extended lower control arms on the front helped as well as the racing beat antiroll bar upgrade.
There was a stripped out caged road legal 1600 eunos that was quicker than me (Arrived on a transporter, the hardtop was taken off to save weight )
The driver commented that he thought my car was quick for one in full roadgoing trim.
The stock seats are bloody great lumps.

Please tell more about your geo measurements and the extended lower arms and the need for them, thank you.

Hi Thruxton, I gave my stock Eunos a Thrash at the OC Gaydon sprint event and it understeered like mad so I did a bit of research and decided more negative camber needed on the front. As both my cars are on the same stock ride height I went for the extended lower control arms on the ITB car. I think its negative 2 on the front and negative 1.5 on the back. ( I bought a digital camber gauge to play with ) The Itb car is on brand new stock Bilstein shocks and factory springs, IL motorsports bushings and Racing Beat anti roll bars ( The softest ones ) I used the same wheels and tyres on the stock Eunos for the Gaydon Sprint and the ITB car at the airfield sprint. Ns2Rs 195 x 15" The stock Eunos is still on its original Bilsteins springs and antiroll bars with tired bushings. bofiracing.co.uk/bauer-extended-lower-ball-joints-for-mazda-mx-5My set up is unusual as both the cars have not been lowered so it will not suit everyone.
The Eunos in my Avatar is the stock Rs Ltd.
