My batteries given up, which is to be expected as it was a second hand temporary replacement, about 4 years ago.
What are the go to recommendation? I was just going to go for the mx5parts replacement so I can utilise the vent tubes etc. I don't want to rust my boot!

if you want to start then one of these www.tayna.co.uk/industrial-batteries/odyssey/pc2250/also good if you've no petrol & want to go shopping as it's got some grunt but seriously, theres some good batteries out there, Odyssey / Optima and Varley would be my choice (have an optima in the Landrover & t4) but theres cheaper 'normal' lead/acid... whats your budget & expectation? Rich.

Can’t remember the part number, but I got mine from Eurocarparts about 5 years ago, around £80 then. Correct size and orientation but did not have a venting kit.

About 6 years ago I fitted a new original Panasonic (currently £105 from mx5parts). No regrets, it's been faultless. My boot is pristine, the battery has the correct vents.

I wouldn't bother getting a Lead Acid or AGM unit anymore. LifePo4 is where it's at. You can get them off AliExpress or more expensive branded units off the regular folks. Some locals are reasonable and MSA-approved.. jackwebbmotorsport.co.uk/JWM-PS-20-LiFePO4-LIGHTWEIGHT-LITHIUM-BATTERY-p164835009why ? cause they're both better and 10-20% the weight of a 'normal' battery. Immediate +- 8-10KG weight loss depending on your existing battery's weight. 12kg (westco) or 9kg (panasonic) vs 2kg lifepo4 (actually. you can get away with lighter lifepo4s, 1kg?) gain 1hp/ton or more by removing 10KG from the 1000KG car!!! it's now your $HP/990KG! :-) THE GAINZ SCALE WITH POWER run the numbers.
