old tyre now, iirc the 008R / 008RS date to earlyish 80's bloody good tyre though, last used them in 2001 on when I last drove on rallies... another great from Yoko / Advan is the 001 (in 001R & 001RS guise) Rich.

if they're like the 'old' origonals then you'll not be upset they were a competition tyre..... Rich.

interesting - the PE2 is also a 'classic' tyre and it's a sort of reissue - issuing it in the Michelin Collection means it's a vintage one I personally can't stand NS-2R in anything but corners - stiff stiff sidewalls

'C' or 'D' wet grip rating does not inspire confidence at those times of summer downpours and suddenly-slimy roads making things 'interesting'... lol Even the NS-2R is a B for wet grip, and that's pretty much a race tyre, AFAICS! as I said, they WERE competition tyres, guessing the compounds are more useless now Rich.

PE2 were standard fit on the Clio 172s IIRC (but I can't remember if they retained them for the 182 onwards) and they certainly aren't shabby in the handling department! Longstone tyres seem to have been the first place getting the PE2 back in stock, so interesting if there's that much perceived demand that Mytyres etc. are getting on board - there has hardly been a glut of good options for 14s and 15s in most size combinations in recent years... The NS-2R were a very interesting tyre - remarkable grip even at very low tread levels in near-freezing / damp conditions, but only in that situation if I was veeerrryyy smooooooth with the steering and pedal inputs, as sudden adjustments mid-corner revealed little grip left in reserve in those conditions... lol. In the dry and warm they grip forever, but they are noisy as fook - it sounded like my diff was on the way out!

Just ordered a set in 185/60/r14 £80 fitted per wheel.
I'll keep you posted how skittish it might be in wet downpour, this is coming from a person who's been happy using Uniroyal rainexpert 3s with massive amounts of grip in the wet

I spoke to Yoko motorsport about these. They’re a good 1A tyre but don’t match the performance of the 1B A052.
