Are NS-2R really 8.6kg in 195/50/15? I shall look forward to hopefully getting something lighter on the 14" OEM hollowspokes! (Which reminds me - I need to ask about PE2 weights...) They are indeed, absolutely bang on 8.6 as I've weighed mine before they went on the 3-Peice Work Equips (6.7kg).

OK.
They're on. I've driven them. In the wet. I gave them a few KM before scrubbing the rears.
So far: Low Noise, not terrible in the wet even without being scrubbed (significantly better than Paradas).
Very positive feedback on the limit, as you'd expect.

That sounds like a good start! How are they when mounted? Fairly square across the tread? I’ll be looking at them in 14” and my rears are 7.5” so a little stretched for a 185. Thanks for the update

More driving on some country roads. Quite encouraging on corners. I end up wanting to thread them more than normal. I should try a head to head with the Paradas. I've still got those on some wats.

hello I am doing my annual preseason trawl of the forums to see if there are any non list b or c tyre options in 195/50/15 as the PS3 is really long in the tooth now and all the NC people are running PS4s. How do these A008 compare to PS3s ?
My other option was considering moving back to 16in rims and getting Conti PC6, but they are getting replaced by PC7 starting in 17in so could be a dead end.

I've not driven the PS3 so can't help you there specifically.

The last 1As I used were shaved Rainsport 3s. I drove them initially with all the tread & they were awful as the tread blocks moved horrendously. After shaving, they were amazing. Almost like 1B grip levels. A friend of mine said about the Rainsports “ they just seem to get quicker”. I just cut out the waiting period by getting them shaved. The tread actually lasts longer as you don’t overheat them as much. Ok, Rainsport 3s are no longer available, but get a set of cheap tyres from here & get them shaved. mighty5s.com/thread/4032/interesting-cheap-tyres

Back on track, how are you getting on with these tyres Alex? Really enjoying them, frankly. My approach to roundabouts has become a bit more high-G since putting them on

Binner, Alex tried these on his Caterham for one event, I don't think he liked them, and I've not seen them since.
I had some on a mini back in 1990 - if you want something newer than a ps3, these are not it! They were pretty poor in the set as far as I recall.
I also had these on Westfield, they were on it when I bought it, and I replaced them, even though they were hardly worn, as they scared me once too often.

I suspect the compound isn't the same as the 1990 version, but I haven't tried it in the wet :-) it's really a strictly hot/dry tyre for me, based on where I live and all.
