After a brief hiatus in MX5 ownership I've now went and bought one again. These things do get under your skin and when I've spotted this one on ebay I knew it's been too long since I've had that ITB roar. Picked it up a couple of weeks ago when I got home from a trip to Armenia out of all places and drove no issue from High Wycombe back home to North Yorkshire. Only got a couple of crappy phone photos from when I've collected it.

The car seems to have been built to a very good standard, apparently by Basset Down Balancing, has no rust at all (arches are pristine) but appears to have been neglected a bit. Ir drives fantastically, the way it behaves on part throttle and around town you wouldn't know it was on ITB's, before pressing it down that is of course. I'm glad to jump straight into a sorted ITB'ed setup and just pick it up from there. The plan is to clean it up a bit and because old jdm fanboi habits die hard, put some more tasty bits on it.
Since bringing it home I haven't had much time to play with it but did a couple of things. I wasn't very happy with the dished Motamec steering wheel and replaced it with my favourite, Momo Prototipo, this time in silver.

Then went straight onto Yahoo Auctions and a week or two later got these beauties in the post. I've had the same ones on my red Roadster ages ago, then went for S800 mirrors on the BRG V-Spec which was a more retro-themed car but this time M2's are again a better fit for what I'm thinking with this car.

The inappropriate RS stickers will have to go of course. The car needs a clean and polish and front bumper is badly pitted and due a respray, probably towards the end of summer. If everything works out I should have some cool stuffz coming in soon.
