Awesomes. Purchased for my dad's project car. Will also test it out on my 1.6 SAVE15 for additional discount to make it just over £20

1.6 is different as you have the bigger MAF with no tube shaped entry. You need to buy an additional adaptor to put the cone onto the MAF.

Oh yeah forgot about that. Had one of those adapters but sold it on eBay a while back

I did v similar on my 1.6 I also added some pipe to force feed cold air from the front grill up to the filter - and then went for a n/s vented headlight cover. Both work well otherwise it gets mighty hot under there and you are sucking less dense air in and it does make a difference I actually put a temp datalogger on the air filter - forcing air in the from the front of the car lowered ambient from 80c to 24c Sad i know - but worth knowing

I made a custom induction kit for my 1.6, basically this with a 90 degree bend and an adapter plate but never got round to fitting it. Thinking of using it on my new 1.8 but maybe taking the 90 degree bend straight from the manifold pipe and making the wiring longer for the MAF. This would get rid of the cross over pipe and the filter would be further from the exhaust manifold. Any side effects of shortening the intake pipe? i.e is it going to run like dog poop.

It' supposed to be fine like that. Give it a go and report back, it's not like it isn't reversible.

Turns out I didn't actually order the bits. Wondering, it's been a few days, why hasn't it turned up yet. My PayPal decided to check me for money laundering. Fun! Sometimes I really don't know what's wrong with me! What size tubing do I need for a 90 bend?

Do you not suffer pretty bad heat soak with this setup? Obviously you have fitted a heatshield, but with it being metal doesn't it just get red hot sitting that close to the manifold?

It was this one but I can't remember the diameter, something like 70mm I think. Will try and measure this evening.
